The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and can close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house which has a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house income won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are studying or intend to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study nsfas 2025 in any of the public universities and TVET nsfas 2025 colleges should apply timeously and nsfas check not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
